A Drum Circle Playshop (DCP) is a group of people having fun creating simple rhythmic parts on a chorus of tuned drums, percussion and musical instruments to create a dynamic music experience. DCP presents a new approach to learning….the fun way! We call that “Teaching Without Teaching Methodology”. Teenagers and youths are tired of being told what to do, by their parents, the teachers, their siblings and even their friends.
 
In our DCP, through many metaphors, our young participants will have a clearer understanding of the various dimensions and elements of emotional intelligence, as we begin to unfold the K.A.B Model of EQ. They will also realise how various character qualities were so important to the team, while they were drumming together in the DCP, striving to reach orchestra level.

The experience from the DCP will allow each participant to discover on their own, The Stairway to Success, without us having to teach them too much. Of course there will be a few “windows of teaching” here and there but most learning will come from themselves as individuals and as a group. What they devise and learn on the own, they will not resist and that’s POWERFUL!

In fact, they will eventually say that it is they who constructed the The Stairway to Success all on their own. What a boost to motivation, self-pride and self-achievement. The youths need to taste little successes, at first, so that they will then strive for bigger successes in the future.
