the Secret to teens' happiness and success

You have to BE before you can do, and you have to DO before you can HAVE everything you want in life – Zig Ziglar

Every architect and builder will tell you that before a house or a building is built, the foundation work has to be done. Otherwise, the house or building will collapse when the wind blows or when the weight of the building gets too heavy.  Similarly, a person’s development follows the same rule. Foundation work has to be carried out first, and this must be the priority for all parents. We believe that  Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Character are mandatory to foundation building within the lives of teens and youths. Everything else builds upon this strong foundation.

CHARACTER

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Development

Participants will be exposed to the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EQ). We believe that high emotional intelligence (EQ) is a pre-requisite for success in life, be it personal, family, career or business. High Intelligence Quotient (IQ) has been considered as the "be all and end all" of success for centuries. Although many parents are concerned with their children's IQ, research shows that a child's Emotional Quotient or  Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is just as important for that child's personal success. So what is EQ? EQ is your child's ability to feel and manage their emotions, while IQ is your child's ability to think.

But studies have shown that high EQ or emotional intelligence has a more important role. Personal management (self awareness, self confidence and self control) and social management (empathy, motivation and social competency on the other hand) have been the basic building blocks of success. Like DNA as life's building block, EQ is the foundation of achievement and success in any field of endeavour. This has become a fact based on 25  years of research into EQ.

We have seen people with high IQ (but with low EQ) who drift from one job to the next. They can't seem to enjoy what they have. They've had conflicts and have created bad reputation anywhere they go. Their inability to manage themselves and others have put their lives on hold. Parents, I don’t think you want your children to get all the A’s and get into the best universities but end up a “failure” in the family and at work. Right?

However, we seen individuals with average IQ and yet with very high EQ having made a lot of progress. They've led despite criticisms. They've tried despite negativism. They've persisted despite failures. They've achieved and succeeded despite adverse conditions.

The good news is this: EQ can be learned and developed; emotional and interpersonal skills can be learned. Participants shall be introduced to our K.A.B EQ Model and the inner transformation begins.

Character Development

Across the nation and around the world, teachers, parents, and principals have reported the difference character is making in the lives of their students. Our programme will challenge young adults to pursue their dreams built on character. Interestingly, we use a very likable and neutral approach – using animals for explanation and illustration. As participants are being developed  in the area emotional intelligence, we will begin to reinforce with Character Development, the FUN way!
